Oh my goodness, the excitement continues (yes, I'm certain someone will remind me how excited I was in anticipation when he's chewing my underwear). Today I spoke with Cheryl, the breeder we are getting Truckee from. She informed us that we will be getting White Puppy from the litter.
Now, I know this makes little sense. White puppy? Well, the puppies, when born, are identified by the color of ribbon tied on their necks until named. And with Chinooks, typically, knowing which dog is going with whom is not decided until shortly before they go home. In our case, since we are getting a breed potential male, it had to be determined that all the "boy parts" were where they were supposed to be before decided which of the boys would be going where and all sorts of other things that are decided by the breeders. Long story short, White Puppy is now known as Puppy Truckee!
